A non-profit Development team plays an important role in the fundraising efforts of an agency like Cape Abilities. It works close with local, regional and sometimes national communities to gather financial support that allows our participants to improve their life goals, support their desire for self-advocacy, and become valuable contributors in their community.
Cape Abilities is proud to introduce its new Development Team, three of whom are brand new members of the Cape Abilities family.
Catherine Spinelli (second from left) is our Chief Development Officer. Catherine comes to Cape Abilities with many years of fund raising experience. She ran a $100 million campaign at Choate Rosemary Hall in CT following many years in a similar capacity at Yale University. Most recently, Catherine worked at MSPCA in Centerville and The Greater Boston Food Bank. She lives in Sandwich and has two grown daughters, Margaret and Jessica.
Christine Freiburger (far right) joins Cape Abilities as its Development Officer. She recently moved to Cape Cod from Boston, where she held fundraising positions at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and MIT with focuses on planned giving and donor stewardship and recognition. Christine lives in Falmouth with her husband, Brett, and their one-year-old daughter, Ottilie.
Jennifer Walsh (second from right) is Cape Abilities’ new Events Manager. Jenn grew up right in Barnstable and just moved back to the Cape from Boston where she worked on MA Governor Charlie Baker’s campaign finance team with a focus in fundraising events. Jenn currently lives in Centerville with her fiancé, Evan. The two look forward to tying the knot in May of this year!
Moira Swiatkowski (far left) is new to the Development Team but not to Cape Abilities. For the past three years, Moira has been our Volunteer Coordinator. In that time, she has had a chance to get to know Cape Abilities intimately through her exceptional work with our volunteers. This knowledge will be quite useful in her new role as Development Associate. Moira, a big fan of the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins athletic squads, lives in Dennis with her family.
“I want everyone to know that this extremely talented Development Team is committed to and excited about increasing awareness and building revenue for this great organization,” notes Spinelli. “I am confident our years of development experience and new fundraising ideas will highlight the incredible work being done by our amazing staff, and the inspiring success stories of the individuals we serve.”
