Join us for the 2023 Walk for Opportunity on May 20th!

Cape Abilities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod, is pleased to announce the 2023 Cape Abilities Walk for Opportunity.

The walk will be held on Saturday, May 20th at the Hyannis Village Green on Main St. The event will begin at 10am, with a 2.2-mile loop around the harbor and a gathering on the green. Cape Abilities Farm’s mobile market will be in attendance, offering local and organic produce, flowers, gifts, art, and more. Participants can expect music by DJ Ian Lee, lawn games, local vendors, and an appearance by the Barnstable Fire Department, who will be there with the flag raised to kick off the walk route as part of this fun, family-friendly event.

“We are excited to be back on the Hyannis Village Green once again, celebrating our community,” said Kim McElholm, President & CEO of Cape Abilities. “The Walk for Opportunity embodies what our mission is all about: creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to live, work, and thrive on Cape Cod.”

The walk has been a signature event of the organization for over a decade, bringing together Cape Abilities staff, individuals, families, supporters, and the broader community. The event also helps raise critical funds for Cape Abilities’ programs and services, which support hundreds of individuals across Cape Cod.

Anyone interested in participating in the walk or donating to the event can visit the Cape Abilities website, at www.capeabilities.org, and select “Walk for Opportunity.” Attendees are encouraged to register in advance.
