Thank you for 11 years of impact, James!

With immense gratitude for all he has done, we share the news that James Barnes, our Vice President of Philanthropy and Engagement, will be leaving Cape Abilities this month to pursue a new opportunity with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. We thank James for the incredible impact he has had at Cape Abilities for the last 11 years.

James has been a steady force, with his passion for our mission, strong entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and sense of humor. He successfully grew Cape Abilities Farm with his team from a small shed to a thriving, vibrant, inclusive space that is important to the community.

He created synergies between our social enterprises, volunteerism, and meaningful storytelling that have collectively increased awareness of Cape Abilities’ mission and raised money for our programs and services.

For the past 10 years, he has also spearheaded and run with Team Cape Abilities at the Falmouth Road Race to help increase awareness of our mission and bring in valuable funds for those we support. James has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals through our programs, our businesses, and our broader community.

Though this goodbye is bittersweet, James will always be part of the Cape Abilities family. We wish him the best in his next chapter and extend our gratitude for his impact. Thank you, James! 💙
