Volunteer at Cape Abilities!
Volunteering at Cape Abilities is a meaningful way to get involved with our mission.
The Cape Abilities volunteer network is 120 members strong. Our volunteers make impacts throughout the organization, donating their time throughout our day programs, residential group homes, events, and social enterprises: Cape Abilities Farm and Cape Abilities Thrift.
In addition, the Growing Friendships program pairs a volunteer with an individual in Cape Abilities programs based on common interests, and supports them in developing a lasting connection.
My goal was to be a true friend and offer some new and interesting experiences. Little did I realize I would receive so much in return.
- Mark Pasquini, recipient of the 2021 Harold Russell Volunteer Award

Volunteer opportunities
Current opportunities to volunteer are below:
Growing Friendships
The Cape Abilities Growing Friendships Program seeks to build long lasting, one-on-one social relationships between volunteers and Cape Abilities program participants. The program aims to enrich lives and improve the level of inclusion for both volunteers and participants.
Volunteers will complete required paperwork and be screened, and will attend a virtual orientation and training program.
They will be carefully matched, based on mutual interests, location, availability and expectations. An introduction session will be scheduled between the volunteer and participant with a Cape Abilities representative. Someone from Cape Abilities will continue to accompany the Friends until they are both comfortable meeting on their own.
To learn more or apply, please contact Ellen Marx Zeyen at ezeyen@capeabilities.org.
